Dr. He is research assistant professor in Department of Materials Science & Engineering and Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University. His main research topics are investigations of thermoelectric-, dielectric-,chalcogenide- materials of inorganics using S/TEM. Dr. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. in physics from Wuhan University in 1998 and 2004, respectively, while his most Ph.D. work was conducted in Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons at Juelich Research Center, Germany. In his Ph.D. project, He studied the microstructures of dielectric- and CMR- materials by means of HRTEM. Prior to coming to NU, Dr. He worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory as a Research Associate, where he worked on strongly correlated electron system materials by STEM, EELS, EDX, HRTEM and Lorentz TEM and 3D reconstruction of protein and macromolecule by negative staining TEM, cryo-TEM and tomography electron microscopy.
